The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday, March 29, 2026, as part of planned maintenance works aimed at improving service reliability.
In the Tema Region, outages will occur from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, affecting Suncity, Manya Jopanya, Shai Hills, Wildlife, and surrounding areas.
In the Accra East Region, a separate exercise is scheduled from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, impacting Baatsona, Teshie Township, GREDA Estate, Teshie Nungua, industries along Spintex Road, Agblezaa, Manet Estate, and adjoining communities.
The company said the coordinated works are necessary to strengthen the stability of the national grid. Duration of outages will vary depending on the scope of work at each location.
The scheduled interventions come as engineers in the Ashanti West Region continue to repair a fallen conductor that left several communities without power on Friday, March 27.
According to an ECG statement, the unplanned outage occurred at Ahiakaso, affecting Kodie, Ahenkro, Denase, Akom, Apagya, Aduman, Aduamoah, Nkwantakese, and surrounding areas. Engineers were deployed to the site, though the company did not specify when full supply would be restored.
ECG apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by both the scheduled maintenance and the unplanned fault, assuring the public that engineers are working to resolve network issues.
