The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of scheduled maintenance works across four operational regions scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
In separate advisories issued over the weekend, the power distributor stated that technicians will be undertaking essential infrastructure upgrades and grid stability enhancements. These exercises will necessitate temporary power outages in numerous communities within the Greater Accra, Central, and Tema enclaves.
The outages are scheduled to commence at 9:00 am in all affected zones. However, the duration of the interruptions will vary by region, contingent on the specific scope of work to be completed.
Regional Breakdown of Outages
· Accra West Region: Engineers will operate between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, focusing on the Anyaa Deeper Life area and its surrounding neighborhoods. Residents and businesses are advised to prepare for an eight-hour disruption.
· Accra East Region: A full-day outage is also scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, impacting several key locations. Affected areas include Neoplan Circle, East Legon, Chez Afrique, and the Teiman Township, along with adjoining communities. The ECG described the work in this densely populated area as critical for improving overall supply quality.
· Central Region: The maintenance window here is slightly shorter, with power expected to be restored by 4:00 pm. Communities affected include the Senya township, Fetteh township, Ojobi, and Bonsuoku, as well as their surrounding localities.
· Tema Region: The most extensive list of affected areas falls within the Tema Region, where the exercise will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The outage will cover a broad geographical area, including Jericho, Roman Down, the Underbridge Market, and the State School for the Deaf. Other affected communities include Safisana, BBF, Adjei Kodjo, Kanawu, Tsopoli, Dawa, Sege, Korluedor, Adokope, Kasseh, Inglisi, Ada Foah, Big Ada, Totope, Azizanya, Treasure Island, and the Aqua Safari resort, along with their surrounding areas.
In its public notices, the ECG extended its apologies to all affected customers, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by these technical interventions. The company reassured the public that the exercises are necessary to ensure the long-term robustness of the power network and to ultimately deliver improved and reliable service to consumers across the regions.
