The Electricity Company of Ghana schedules maintenance works in Tema, Greater Accra, Accra East, and Central regions
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises across multiple regions beginning Monday, February 16, 2026, which will result in temporary power outages in several communities.
The exercises, scheduled across the Tema, Greater Accra, Accra East, and Central regions, form part of the company’s efforts to improve service delivery, ECG stated in a release.
Tema Region
In the Tema Region, ECG stated it “will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” with outages lasting from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The first exercise, scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, will impact “Comm. 16, 17 & 24, Sydal Farms, Adjel Kodjo, Japan City, Global, Teteman, Baatsonaa (Total & Cluster of Schools), Resolve Hospital, Timber Market, Bakeshop, Marina Mall and surrounding areas.”
On Wednesday, February 18, another maintenance exercise will affect “FOS Aluminium, Kakalika Plaza, Shell Signboard, Kpogas and surrounding areas.”
A third notice for Thursday, February 19, lists “Lashibi, Emef Estates, High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Jotafa, Sakumono (Village & Estates) and surrounding areas” as the affected zones.
Greater Accra Region
Residents in several Greater Accra localities will experience longer outage windows from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
For Tuesday, February 17, ECG indicated that areas including “Odorkor, Awoshie, Odorgonnor, Gbawel, Israel last stop, Agradaa, Tuba, Krokrobite, Old Bortianor, old Aplaku, and surrounding areas” would be affected.
Further exercises are scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, impacting “Wiaboman, Glefe, Kotoku Shell Filling Station, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Kings University, and surrounding areas,” and for Friday, February 20, affecting “Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Cassava farm, Oshiyie, and surrounding areas.”
Accra East Region
The Accra East Region will see significant activity beginning Monday, February 16, when power will be interrupted for “UPSA Hostel, Trinity, Mempeasem, School Junction, Parts of Adjiringanor, Obinim Church, Kanda Estate, and surrounding areas” from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Another notice lists Tuesday, February 17, for areas including “Mantey Tsuru, TS Guest House, La Cemetery, Burma Camp, Dzorwulu UBA Bank, Odateye Tsui Road, and surrounding areas.”
A further exercise is planned for Wednesday, February 18, affecting “Ablor Adjei township, Parts of Cantonment, Abokobi township, Parts of Teiman, Adenta Container, Abenwoha, and surrounding areas.”
Central Region
In the Central Region, ECG announced that on Tuesday, February 17, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the outage will affect “Eduyaw Owane, Mando, Abaasa, Essarkyir, Goamoamaim, Baah, Afransie, Amai, Eshiem, Entumbil, Ochiso and surrounding areas.”
ECG has advised residents in the affected areas to plan accordingly and apologised for any inconvenience the maintenance works may cause. The company assured the public that the exercises are necessary to ensure reliable and efficient service delivery.
Residents are encouraged to treat all power cables as live during the maintenance period and to take necessary precautions to protect electrical appliances.
