The Founder and General Overseer of the Divine Miracle Revival Missionary of Ghana, Apostle Dr Agyenim Boateng, has appealed to the government to urgently address the challenges facing cocoa farmers across the country.
The appeal came during a three-day Easter convention held at the Odumasi School Park in Amasaman, which drew a large gathering of worshippers from across the region to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The event, themed around Matthew 21:3, featured praise and worship, prayers, and moments of reflection. Apostle Dr Boateng, who served as the main speaker, delivered sermons focused on obedience to God’s word, humility, and total surrender to Christ. He encouraged believers to remain steadfast in their faith and to live according to the teachings of Jesus, particularly during the Easter season.
Organisers reported that several individuals made decisions to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour, describing the soul-winning as one of the most significant outcomes of the convention.
Call for Fair Cocoa Prices
Alongside the spiritual messages, Apostle Dr Boateng drew attention to the economic hardships faced by cocoa farmers, expressing concern that many continue to struggle due to unfavourable pricing structures despite their vital contribution to the national economy.
“As we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I humbly appeal to the government to also remember our cocoa farmers by paying them the right price for their produce. Many of them are suffering, and this is affecting their households and even members of my church,” he said.
He stressed that the essence of Easter—symbolising sacrifice, love, and redemption—should inspire national leaders to act with fairness, compassion, and justice towards hardworking farmers who play a crucial role in sustaining the country’s economy.
The Apostle also called on ministers of the gospel to intensify evangelism efforts, especially during significant periods such as Easter. He advised young people to embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour while avoiding drug abuse and other negative behaviours that could derail their future, adding that a life anchored in Christ provides hope, direction, and purpose.
Participants expressed deep appreciation for the teachings, with many describing the event as life-changing and renewing their commitment to serving God.
Organisers have indicated plans to host similar programmes in the future as part of their mission to win more souls and advance the work of God across Ghana and beyond.
