Amenfi Central MP, Hon. Joana Cudjoe, donates GH¢1.5m medical equipment to boost healthcare

Healthcare delivery in the Amenfi Central constituency has received a major boost following a substantial donation of medical equipment valued at GHS 1.5 million by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe.

The official presentation ceremony, held at Agona Amenfi, has sparked renewed optimism among health workers and residents alike. The equipment is expected to significantly enhance service delivery across all 39 health facilities in the district.

The items, which were received by the District Health Director, Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Nuhu, and his team, include a wide range of critical supplies such as:

· Baby incubators
· Delivery and patient beds
· Oxygen concentrators
· Heart monitors
· Anaesthetic machines
· Centrifuges and sterilizers
· Wheelchairs, among other vital medical supplies

The donation aligns with Hon. Cudjoe’s broader vision to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the constituency. Plans are already underway to upgrade one of the existing health centres into a fully operational hospital. Additionally, some Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, including the Juabo CHPS facility, are earmarked for elevation to full health centre status.

The equipment was presented on behalf of the MP by a delegation led by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Peter Amponsah, alongside constituency executives including Hon. Astingo, Nana Wireko, Hon. Mathias Coffie, and Mr. Alex Oguah.

Receiving the items, Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Nuhu expressed profound gratitude to the MP for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention. He noted that the equipment would greatly enhance the capacity of health workers to deliver quality care across the district.

“We assure the MP and the good people of Amenfi Central that these items will be properly maintained and used for their intended purpose,” Alhaji Nuhu said. He further stressed the Directorate’s commitment to accountability and effective management to ensure long-term benefits for the community.

The donation is expected to not only improve healthcare delivery but also restore confidence in the local health system, reflecting a strong commitment to the well-being of communities in Amenfi Central.
