Former Guinness World Record contender Afua Asantewaa has opened up about the collapse of her marriage to sports journalist Kofi Owusu Aduomi, clarifying that the relationship ended before her first sing-a-thon attempt.
In a candid TikTok live session, the media personality addressed widespread speculation linking her marital issues to her rising fame, insisting the two are unrelated.
“What people don’t know is that I left this marriage before the first sing-a-thon attempt,” she stated.
Asantewaa revealed a troubling discovery during the marriage: her first daughter found a document in her husband’s car showing that a house they had built together was registered solely in his name.
“When I asked him, he told me it was a mistake,” she said. “No one will speak for me to you. Let me be. This has nothing to do with fame.”
‘He Knelt as If He Was a Lover Boy’
The entrepreneur also accused her estranged husband of putting on a public performance during her sing-a-thon event.
“During the sing-a-thon, someone brought me a flower, but he knelt to give it to me as if he was a lover boy,” she claimed. “We fought in the hotel because you knew I was going to leave you.”
Asantewaa disclosed that her father advised her to delay divorce proceedings until after the sing-a-thon, as the timing would have been inappropriate.
She now says she is done staying silent: “I am not going to shut up anymore. The bullying is too much. My own daughter told me that I shouldn’t let a man ruin my life.”
