Nigerian footballer Victor Udoh, who previously played for English Championship side Southampton and Belgian club Royal Antwerp, has tragically passed away at the age of 21 in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

On Holiday in Home Country
Udoh had recently returned to Nigeria for his post-season break following a stint with Czech second-division club SK Dynamo České Budějovice, which he joined after leaving Southampton. He was reportedly spending time with friends and family in Abuja when the tragedy occurred .

A Promising Career Cut Short
Born in Nigeria, Udoh began his football journey with Abuja-based Hypebuzz FC before securing a move to Belgian side Royal Antwerp in 2023 . He quickly made an impression at the club, scoring 12 goals in 21 matches for the Young Reds during his first season.
His performances earned him promotion to the first team, where he made 28 official appearances for the Great Old under manager Mark van Bommel . Udoh also featured against the likes of Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League.
