Luis Enrique steps down as CEO of €27m Real Estate firm, hands reins to wife

Luis Enrique, the former Barcelona and Spain national team manager, has officially stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of his real estate company, Patrimonial Lupasi SL, citing personal reasons for the departure.

The Barcelona-based firm, which manages a substantial portfolio valued at €27 million, will now be led by his wife, whose appointment signals continuity rather than disruption. According to corporate filings, Enrique personally injected €1.4 million into the company shortly before his exit—a move analysts suggest is aimed at reinforcing the firm’s liquidity and shielding it from market volatility.

Patrimonial Lupasi SL, named in part after the couple’s daughters, has grown quietly but steadily since its founding, focusing on residential and commercial holdings in prime Catalan locations. While Enrique, 54, has not elaborated on the personal motives behind his departure, sources close to the family indicate he intends to devote more time to other professional ventures and family matters.

The company, however, remains in highly capable hands. Enrique’s wife—an economics graduate from the University of Barcelona—brings more than two decades of experience in the real estate sector, having previously overseen asset management and strategic planning for several regional developers. Insiders describe her as the operational brain behind many of the firm’s recent acquisitions.

“This is not a sudden change but a natural evolution,” said a spokesperson for the company. “She has been intimately involved in the company’s financial direction since its inception. Her academic background and hands-on experience make her well-suited to lead the next phase.”

Enrique, who retains ownership of the firm, is expected to remain as a non-executive advisor. No further management changes have been announced.

Patrimonial Lupasi SL continues to operate from its headquarters in Barcelona’s Les Corts district, with its asset sheet unaffected by the leadership transition.
