Ghana’s first female world boxing champion, Abigail Quartey, has officially parted ways with her manager, Solomon Otoo, citing a lack of fights and prolonged inactivity.
The WIBF World Super Bantamweight titleholder made the announcement during an appearance on Omashi TV’s The Big Fight Night. Quartey expressed deep frustration, revealing she has not stepped into the ring since her historic title victory in November 2024.
“I am withdrawing from the management of Solomon Otoo due to inactivity and lack of fights,” Quartey stated.
But in a swift turn of events, the boxer popularly known as “Kwartekaa” has already secured a fresh opportunity. She is now preparing to face Britain’s Cassidy Todd in what promises to be a crucial comeback bout.
Training under the tutelage of Coach Killer (Eben Adjei) at the Black Panthers Gym, Quartey and her team remain determined to build on her legacy and achieve more success on the international stage.
Details regarding the date and venue for the Quartey-Todd clash are expected to be announced shortly.
