Barcelona clinched their 29th La Liga title with three games to spare after a 2-0 El Clasico victory over rivals Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Marcus Rashford’s stunning first-half free-kick and Ferran Torres’ fine finish secured the win that puts Barcelona 14 points clear of their nearest challengers.
The result means Hansi Flick’s side have now won 18 consecutive home league games this season and secured back-to-back Spanish titles.
England forward Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, whipped an early set-piece into the top corner past Thibaut Courtois to open the scoring in the ninth minute.
Barcelona doubled their lead in the 18th minute when Dani Olmo’s clever flick set up Torres to fire home from close range.
Both goalscorers dedicated their celebrations to Flick following the death of the manager’s father at the weekend.
Real Madrid, now 14 points adrift, offered little attacking threat throughout the contest, mustering only one shot on target across 90 minutes.
Under-pressure boss Alvaro Arbeloa could not inspire a response from his side, with Gonzalo Garcia failing to hit the target with Real’s best chance of the first half.
Vinicius Junior was denied by Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia after the interval, while Rashford came close to a second only to be thwarted by Courtois.
The victory extends Barcelona’s unbeaten home league record this season to 18 matches and moves them to within seven titles of record winners Real Madrid.
Rashford has now scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions since joining Barcelona on loan.
Barcelona retain an option to buy the 28-year-old from Manchester United for £28m when his loan expires at the end of the season.
Real Madrid’s night was compounded by the absence of Federico Valverde, who was concussed during a dressing room altercation with team-mate Aurelien Tchouameni earlier this week. Tchouameni started the match.
The two rivals have now each won 106 of their 264 competitive meetings.
Chants of “Championes” rang around the revamped Camp Nou as the final whistle confirmed Barcelona’s title triumph.
