Real Madrid’s preparations for this weekend’s El Clásico have been thrown into turmoil following a serious physical altercation between midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
According to reports from AS and Carrusel, the incident occurred during training, where what began as a dispute quickly escalated. Witnesses describe the fight as “very serious,” with both players exchanging blows. Teammates were forced to intervene to separate the pair.
The confrontation took a worrying turn when Valverde fell and struck his head against a table, resulting in a significant laceration. The Uruguayan international required immediate medical attention and was accompanied to a hospital by club delegate Álvaro Arbeloa to receive stitches.
While Valverde has since returned home, the cut has placed his availability for the upcoming Clásico in serious jeopardy.
Sources indicate that Tchouaméni apologized to Valverde for his role in the incident. However, the apology was reportedly not accepted by the Uruguayan, suggesting lingering tension within the dressing room.
