Everton & Crystal Palace report racist abuse of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi after Man City match

Everton and Crystal Palace have confirmed that two of their players—Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi—were subjected to racist abuse following Manchester City’s Premier League victory over Everton yesterday.

Semenyo, the Ghanaian forward, was reportedly targeted directly at the stadium by a spectator. Meanwhile, England international Guéhi was abused online via his social media accounts.

In response, Everton acted swiftly, identifying and subsequently banning a 71-year-old supporter accused of the racist incident aimed at Semenyo. The club confirmed the individual has been prohibited from entering the stadium.

Both clubs issued strong condemnations. In an official statement, Everton said: “It is exhausting to see this kind of news all the time… NO TO RACISM!”

Crystal Palace also voiced its support for Guéhi, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance toward any form of discriminatory abuse.

The developments have drawn widespread criticism from fans and anti-racism groups, with calls for stronger deterrents to combat racism both inside stadiums and across social media platforms.
