Guardiola set for City exit as Maresca deal nears – Stand naming planned

Manchester City are internally preparing for Pep Guardiola to step down as manager at the end of the season, with Enzo Maresca reportedly close to agreeing a deal to take over.

Club sources indicate that a transition plan is already in motion, including a detailed package for Maresca, the former Leicester City boss and Guardiola’s one-time assistant. Discussions have also taken place over honouring the outgoing Catalan by naming a stand at the Etihad Stadium after him.

However, the move is not yet set in stone — a late change of heart from Guardiola could still alter the situation. For now, City are pressing ahead with what is described as an internal expectation that a new era will begin next season.
