Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Emmanuel Smith, has held discussions with aviation giant Boeing in Seattle aimed at forging a strategic partnership to relaunch a national carrier for the West African nation.
The talks focused on key areas including fleet acquisition, technical support, pilot and crew training, and maintenance services. According to a statement from the Ghanaian mission, the proposed collaboration is expected to boost Ghana’s aviation sector, create jobs, and reinforce the country’s position as a leading aviation hub in West Africa.
Boeing representatives expressed optimism about Ghana’s aviation potential and welcomed further engagement, signaling a shared interest in moving the partnership forward.
No timeline or financial commitments have been announced, but the talks mark a concrete step toward reviving a flag carrier years after Ghana’s previous national airline ceased operations.
