Achraf Hakimi rules out of Bayern Munich clash after hamstring tear

Paris Saint-Germain will be without key defender Achraf Hakimi for their Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich after scans confirmed a hamstring tear, dealing a major blow to the French side’s European ambitions.

The Moroccan right-back sustained the injury during the thrilling first leg, which PSG won 5–4. Despite evident discomfort, Hakimi played through the pain after the team had used all its substitutions, leaving him no option but to stay on the pitch until the final whistle.

Medical assessments conducted following the match confirmed the hamstring tear, ruling him out of the return fixture in Munich.

Hakimi has been a pivotal figure for PSG this season, contributing heavily to both defensive solidity and attacking width from the right flank. His absence forces manager Luis Enrique to reshuffle his defensive setup ahead of one of the club’s most critical matches of the campaign.

PSG will now manage the 27-year-old’s recovery through a rehabilitation programme. The club remains hopeful that he could return later in the season, depending on his progress.

Further updates on his condition and expected recovery timeline are anticipated in the coming days.
