The Konongo Odumase M/A Basic School community is in mourning after two teachers died on the same day school resumed, in a tragic turn of events that has left staff and pupils devastated.
According to reports, one of the deceased, Mr. Francis Aguah, popularly known as “General,” had been unwell during the vacation period. His condition worsened, and he passed away on the morning of the school’s reopening.
In a heartbreaking chain of events, news of his death reportedly reached his colleague, Madam Grace Stepheny, affectionately called “Obaamua.” She collapsed upon hearing the news and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff pronounced her dead on arrival.
The sudden loss of both educators on the same day has plunged the school into deep sorrow. Colleagues describe the two as dedicated and well-respected teachers who played vital roles in their students’ lives.
School authorities have yet to release an official statement, while the community awaits confirmation on the causes of death from medical officials. Arrangements are expected to be made to support the bereaved families.
