Disturbing surveillance video has emerged showing a speeding motorist slamming into a woman walking along a road in Bohyen early Saturday morning, triggering widespread anger and renewed calls for stricter traffic enforcement.
The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on April 18, 2026, according to a post by CDR Africa on X.
In the footage, the woman is seen walking along the roadside carrying personal belongings when a vehicle traveling at high speed strikes her from behind. The impact launches her into the air, scattering her items across the roadway before she crashes to the ground.
The out-of-control vehicle then collides with another car approaching from the opposite direction, causing the second vehicle to flip over and worsening the scene.
The video, shared with a viewer discretion warning, has ignited public fury over what many are calling an act of reckless driving.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the crash resulted in any fatalities or the extent of injuries sustained by those involved.
Local residents and road safety advocates are demanding immediate action, including stricter enforcement of speed limits and harsher penalties for dangerous driving, to prevent similar tragedies and protect innocent lives on Ghana’s roads.
