President John Dramani Mahama will today, April 18, 2026, begin a two-day working visit to the Northern Region as part of his ongoing #ResettingGhana tour.
The tour, which follows a similar exercise in the Bono Region, is designed to give citizens—led by their traditional leaders—a platform to directly engage the President. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on his policy initiatives, discuss the impact of government programmes on their daily lives, review ongoing development projects, and raise concerns requiring redress.
President Mahama will be accompanied by several ministers of state and heads of government institutions. During the visit, he will cut the sod to commence work on new 24-hour markets and inspect the progress of various projects in the region.
On Sunday, the President will open his administration up for public scrutiny at a town hall meeting scheduled for the University of Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale. Government appointees are expected to use the occasion to explain major policy interventions introduced over the past year.
