The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has completed its interview process with shortlisted candidates for the vacant Black Stars head coach position, according to sources close to the association.
The interviews, conducted on Monday, represent a critical step in the GFA’s search for a successor to Otto Addo, who was dismissed approximately one week ago following a string of disappointing results in international friendly matches.
According to inside sources, the interview panel engaged both local and foreign coaches, with evaluators focusing on technical expertise, leadership qualities, strategic vision, and the ability to manage the pressures inherent in leading the national team.
The shortlist includes several high-profile names as the GFA seeks a coach who can restore confidence in the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Each candidate reportedly presented their tactical philosophy, squad rebuilding plans, and strategies for balancing short-term success with long-term development. The FA has emphasised the need for a coach who can quickly establish structure and consistency within the team.
With the interview phase concluded, the GFA will now move into internal deliberations and stakeholder consultations. An official announcement is expected in the coming days as the Black Stars prepare to begin a new chapter.
