Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has broken his silence on the recent Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) investigation that led to the seizure of his Lamborghini, claiming authorities were “lucky” they did not arrest him.
The musician, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., alleged that EOCO officials arrived at his residence with armed personnel during the operation. He described the handling of the situation as both unfair and excessive.
“The approach taken by the authorities was intimidating and unnecessary,” Shatta Wale said, expressing frustration over how the matter was handled.
The controversy began when EOCO seized the artist’s luxury vehicle as part of an investigation into suspected links to proceeds of crime. Shatta Wale has consistently denied any involvement in illegal activities, maintaining that he has done nothing wrong and was unfairly targeted.
While the artiste stated he is not shaken by the developments, he made it clear he is prepared to defend himself if necessary. EOCO has not yet responded to his latest comments.
The case continues to draw mixed reactions from the public, with some supporting the musician’s claims while others defend the authorities’ actions as standard procedure.
Investigations remain ongoing.
