Bishop Boxing Promotions has officially acquired hard-hitting Ghanaian contender Wasiru “Gyatabi” Mohammed, adding a former WBO Africa and WBO Global champion to its stable.

The signing brings one of West Africa’s most dangerous knockout artists under the promotional banner, with plans to steer the super bantamweight and featherweight veteran back toward world title contention.

Mohammed, known for relentless pressure and a high stoppage ratio, burst onto the professional scene in April 2017 with a fourth-round TKO victory over Isaac Mensah. A year later, he captured the WBO Africa super bantamweight title via technical decision against Isaac Sackey before later adding the WBO Global belt to his collection.

“Wasiru brings the kind of ferocity and finishing ability that energizes fans and builds champions,” said Dave Bishop, founder of Bishop Boxing Promotions. “We’re committed to providing him with the platform, resources, and matchups to propel him back into title contention and worldwide recognition.”

The move pairs Mohammed with Bishop Boxing Promotions while maintaining his ties to Fight Ready Promotions, where John Manfo serves as co-manager and president. Manfo described the partnership as a strategic step forward.

“Wasiru’s aggressive style and resilience make him a must-watch fighter,” Manfo said. “Teaming up with Bishop Boxing Promotions gives him the strategic support he needs to advance his career and take on higher-profile opponents.”

Mohammed built his early reputation on an unbeaten run and a string of regional titles. With the new alliance, he is expected to return to the ring in a high-profile matchup later this year.
