Trump’s signature to appear on US paper currency, treasury announces

The U.S. Treasury Department has announced that President Donald Trump’s signature will appear on future U.S. paper currency, a move officials say honors both the president and the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

The decision marks the first time in American history that a sitting president’s signature will be featured on the nation’s paper money. The new bills are scheduled for release in conjunction with the Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the United States.

In a statement, the Treasury Department said the initiative is intended to recognize President Trump’s leadership and the country’s economic trajectory.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are on a path toward unprecedented economic growth, lasting dollar dominance, and fiscal strength and stability,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

Treasurer Brandon Beach framed the decision as a symbolic recognition of the administration’s policies. “The President’s mark on history as the architect of America’s Golden Age economic revival is undeniable,” Beach said. “Printing his signature on the American currency is not only appropriate, but also well deserved.”

The signatures of both the president and the Treasury secretary will appear on the redesigned bills. Officials described the new currency as a symbol of prosperity and strength as the country approaches its 250th anniversary.
