The Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Aworowa District, under the Mid North Ghana Conference, marked a decade of service with a landmark anniversary celebration on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The event, held at the Aworowa Social Center under the theme “10 Years of Faithful Mission,” combined spiritual reflection with a significant commitment to community development.
The celebration drew key leaders from the Mid North Ghana Conference, including its President, Pastor Jacob Attah Ankomah; Executive Secretary, Pastor Job Owusu Ansah; and Treasurer, Elder Niholas Opoku. They were joined by district members and well-wishers from across the region.
In a key announcement during the event, Aworowa District Elder, Elder Anane Kwabena, unveiled plans to expand a local water initiative into a large-scale commercial venture. The district intends to transform the existing water project at the mission house into a full-scale water treatment and packaging plant.
“There is a popular adage that ‘water is life,’ so we have deemed it appropriate to expand the water project at the mission house to benefit not only the residents of the mission, but also the people of Aworowa and Techiman at large,” Elder Kwabena stated.
He explained that the proposed plant aims to serve Aworowa and its surrounding communities, with a projected total cost of GHC 2,000,000.00. Beyond providing access to clean water, the project is expected to have a significant economic impact by creating local jobs.
“We believe that, when completed, this project will serve as a source of employment for many people within the community and help reduce the unemployment rate in Techiman North and Ghana as a whole,” Elder Kwabena added, appealing to church members and the public for support through donations.
Alongside the development focus, the anniversary served as a call for spiritual renewal. The Aworowa District Pastor, Atta Isaac Lawrence, urged the congregation to remain steadfast in their faith.
“We have ten congregations in the district, and my message to all members is to hold firmly to our beliefs and worship God in truth and in spirit,” he said. “It is my prayer that all members of this district will renew their faith in God and help win more souls for His glory.”
The 10th-anniversary celebration highlighted the district’s dual commitment to spiritual growth and tangible community transformation, setting an ambitious course for its next decade of service.
