The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has moved to correct recent media reports, clarifying that businessman Nana Yaw Duodu, widely known as Dr. Sledge, has not been exonerated in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF).
In a firm statement issued on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the anti-corruption agency stressed that its inquiry into MIIF-related transactions, estimated at a staggering $94 million, remains very much active and ongoing.
Contrary to some circulating reports, the OSP stated that no criminal charges have been filed against Dr. Sledge of Godridge Ghana Limited, and consequently, no court has made any determination regarding his guilt or innocence.
The clarification comes in the wake of public discussion surrounding a recent High Court decision pertaining to the businessman’s assets. The OSP detailed that in 2025, it acted to freeze vehicles belonging to Dr. Sledge, valued at approximately GH¢18 million. While the High Court declined to confirm the initial freezing order in January 2025, the OSP has swiftly challenged that ruling.
According to the statement, the assets in question remain frozen and are securely under the protection of the OSP in the public interest. Investigators are also actively pursuing wider asset-tracing efforts to identify and preserve any other assets suspected to be tainted by the alleged corruption.
The OSP has reiterated its unwavering commitment to seeing the investigation through to its conclusion. The Office has assured the public that once its inquiries are complete, any individual against whom sufficient evidence of wrongdoing is found will be formally charged and arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.
