SEM Promotions unveils star-studded ‘Freedom and Justice Fight Night’ for March 6

Sports Education And Management (SEM) Promotions is set to deliver an explosive Independence Day treat for Ghanaian boxing fans with the “Freedom And Justice Fight Night” on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Cathedral Clinic, High Street in Accra.

Promoter Edward Coleman, popularly known as ‘Youth President’ of SEM Promotions, has assembled an exciting card featuring a blend of rising juvenile talents and seasoned campaigners seeking to reignite their careers. The Ghana Boxing Authority’s International Management Committee (GBIMC) has officially sanctioned all bouts.

The evening’s main attraction will see Olympic bronze medalist Samuel Takyi step into the ring against Fatiou Sarouna in an international super lightweight contest. The bout serves as a crucial warm-up for Takyi ahead of more significant challenges on the horizon.

“We want to give inactive and veteran boxers the opportunity to revive their careers and reconnect with their fan base,” Coleman explained, outlining his vision for the event.

In another compelling international matchup, Ghana’s Super Welterweight Champion Musah Rahman Lawson, known as ‘Awoodade’, will face Togolese challenger Somabe Sylvester Simplice in an eight-round super welterweight contest.

The undercard promises equal excitement with a heavyweight clash between Isaac Commey (Miracle Gym) and Godwin Cudjoe (Black Panther Gym), while rising sensation Joseph Antwi (Wisdom Gym) takes on Felix Mankatah (Akotoku Gym) in another heavyweight attraction.

Additional bouts feature John Abeka Coffie (Reformers Gym) against Richard Ashong (Akotoku Gym), super lightweight action between John Amebley (Miracle Gym) and Justus Asare (The Gym), while super bantamweight John Zile (Bronx Gym) is also confirmed on the bill.

Bantamweight division representatives Daniel Otoo and Moses Adjei Selvi will face opponents to be announced shortly.

Coleman expressed confidence in the recently discovered venue at Cathedral Clinic, describing it as ideal for boxing presentations. “The atmosphere will be fantastic, and we’re promising boxing fans quality entertainment throughout the evening,” he assured.

The event combines competitive boxing with Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations, offering spectators an opportunity to enjoy world-class pugilistic action on a significant national day.
