The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources,Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has unveiled a sweeping audit of public land sales. This exhaustive review seeks to ascertain whether due process was meticulously followed, with any aberrant transactions facing outright nullification.

Addressing Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang during her visit to the Ministry, Hon.Buah underscored the imperative of upholding transparency and accountability.

“We began reviewing public lands sold in recent years, and we discovered some were unlawfully sold or mismanaged. We’ve constituted a team to address this, and cabinet has given approval. By the time we finish, it’ll be a deterrent to officials thinking of abusing public lands,” he declared.

He issued a stern warning, affirming that officials found complicit in malpractices will be publicly named and sanctioned, thereby setting a precedent.

“All public lands sold are being scrutinized to confirm proper valuation and due process. Those that didn’t complete processes are automatically canceled,” he added.

This concerted effort is geared towards protecting public property and ensuring optimal value for the state.

“We’re going to protect public lands and give confidence to Ghanaians,” Hon. Buah emphasized, underscoring the government’s Inflexible commitment to prudent management of Ghana’s natural resources.
