The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has published the officially approved fee structure for the University of Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year, in a move aimed at addressing concerns and ensuring clarity over student charges.

In a statement issued on Monday, January 12, and signed by the Director-General, Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, GTEC said the Academic Facility User Fee will remain at the 2024/2025 level, meaning no increase for students.

The approved fees include Student Representative Council (SRC) dues of GH₵50, an SRC Development Levy of GH₵150, a Graduate Students (GRASAG) Development Levy of GH₵250, and a Telecel Broadband Levy of GH₵122, which applies to undergraduate students, including freshmen.

The Commission also announced a one-off 75th Anniversary Levy of GH₵100, which will apply only to the 2025/2026 academic year and will not be carried forward beyond that period.

GTEC further advised that students should be adequately informed of their rights, including the option to opt out of certain levies where applicable, describing the publication as a measure to promote transparency and compliance within the university system.

“This announcement seeks to resolve issues surrounding the 2025/2026 fee schedule for the University of Ghana, and we count on the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure its smooth implementation,” the statement said.
